The Ole Miss volleyball team took to the court Wednesday to open up fall camp; the 2018 season kicks off in 16 days.
Head coach Steven McRoberts’ squad is coming off a 2017 National Invitational Volleyball Tournament Championship against Texas Tech.
McRoberts said the first day showed a lot of promise.
“The returning players came back in great shape and ahead of schedule with a lot of skills on the court,” McRoberts said. “(Newcomers) are coming in and competing well with a lot of depth, and that has added a couple of spots of competitions to the returners.”
Among the returning players are four seniors including returning libero Caroline Adams.
“Our senior class has a lot of leadership in it and Caroline has grown so much in the four years since she has been here,” McRoberts said. “She continues to get better and better.”
The volleyball team will host its Red / Blue Scrimmage at 2 p.m. on August 18 along with a fan appreciation day. The day begins with a Kids Clinic at 11 a.m., followed by Volleyball 101 with Coach McRoberts at 12:30 p.m.
