VIDEO: Oxford Gas Prices Drop, How to Find Best Price

GasPriceThousands of students will be heading out of town in the next week with locals making holiday trips soon after.  This year, it looks like Santa is putting a little bit back into drivers’ stockings, too.
Right now Mississippi ranks fourth in the nation for lowest gas prices.  The average is $2.38 per gallon, but you can fill up for even less than that at Dees Oil, located at 1500 Old MS-7 N & Molly Barr Rd.  According to GasBuddy.com, you’ll save a penny per gallon there today.
Local gas stations are constantly in competition to stay ahead of each other when it comes to price cuts. That’s a benefit to consumers who have long griped about sky–high gas prices.
One Chevron worker, Mama Joy, can attest to those complaints.
“They’re glad to see the price going down;  there is a relief that it’s not as high a price as it was,” said Joy.
As students prepare to leave for the holidays, more have been pulling up to the pumps.
“I’m always gonna be glad if the prices go down. I don’t think they’ll stay down, but I think its good they’re down for now,” said Wesley McFall.
“The gas prices going down can really push forward what I can use for my money and let’s me get more stuff and really let’s me go longer on a tank because it’s not $3.40 like it was back home,” said Issac Barber.
Of course, if you want to save even more money and can make it just a few miles down the road, reporter Taylor Delandro has the scoop on where to find the cheapest gas around.
