UCONN Claims its Fourth National Title

Last night, the men’s NCAA Tournament came to an unexpected end when the Connecticut Huskies defeated the Kentucky Wildcats by the score of 60-54.
The game matched up the two lowest combined teams to every play for a national title. In-front of a crowd of 79,238 at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, the two squads fought like everything depended on it — because it did!
From the opening tip-off the Huskies took control of the game and never relinquished their lead to a young and talented freshman class form Kentucky. The Wildcats did make a strong push for the lead with a 19-5 run spanning the first and second halfs of the game.
UCONN was led on the court, by senior guard, Shabazz Napier with 22 points. He also drained 4-of-9 shots from beyond the three-point arc.

The Wildcats magical run through the tournament ended last night six points short of another national title. Kentucky left points out on the court, suffering a bad night at the free-throw line while going 13-24 for 54 percent. On the season, the club shot 68 precent from the line — a fatal weakness in the title game.
The Wildcats were led in scoring by forward James Young who had 20 points. For Aaron Harrison, clutch in the previous last three rounds of the tournament, he was only able to muster seven points.
With the win, UCONN has now won four National Championships in basketball. Anth that’s not counting their insanely talented women’s team that goes for it all tonight against Notre Dame.
