HottyToddy.com is working with students of the Meek School of Journalism and New Media at the University of Mississippi to produce HottyToddy.com Food & Drink TV. Professor Debora Wenger’s students will create brief videos of Oxford-area chefs and bartenders demonstrating the making of dishes and drinks; the students shoot, edit, and produce the clips and put them in final form, all within the course of a few hours each, as part of their coursework—gaining valuable experience in broadcast reporting in a flash. HottyToddy.com will then feature the episodes on the site later this fall.

Another new web series, slated for viewing in spring of 2014, will get more in-depth and expansive in its scope. The producers of the Oxford Craft Beer Festival will launch Brews and Chews: Mississippi, a weekly web-TV series “dedicated to the savory and seductive world of Mississippi’s culinary cuisines, along with tasty beer,” says host Darryl Parker. Viewers will ride shotgun with Parker and the show’s crew as they travel Mississippi’s roads in search of restaurants, recipes, good food and drink, and the men and women who create it.

The Brews and Chews producers have created a Kickstarter campaign to raise the funds to produce the program. Click here to contribute.
