The Oxford Daily Crime Report for Tuesday, May 6
The Oxford Police Department investigated two wrecks, 16 traffic citations and one arrest, on the charge of simple assault.
Oxford Police also responded to reports of four suspicious activities, three alarms, two welfare concerns, two disturbances, simple assault, ambulance assist, loitering, grand larceny, false pretense, a 911 hang-up call and an animal complaint.
The University Police Department responded to the following incidents Monday, May 5: Disturbance – loud/unnecessary music or noise at Campus Walk Apartments, running a stop sign, traffic assists on Coliseum Drive, grand larceny at Barnard, burglary-taking items from auto at Ford Performing Arts Center, careless driving, motor vehicle accident at Guyton Lot, improper equipment on Grove Loop, driving wrong way on one-way street on Cross Street and improper equipment at University Place.
The Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls Monday, May 5: – The Village Bldg. 110 – Child playing in the breezeway pull the fire alarm, The Village Bldg. 110, at 6:33 p.m. – Bryant Hall – Air handling unit No. 2 duct detector malfunction, at Bryant Hall, at 11:32 p.m.
