The Daily Crime Report for April 8
The Oxford Police Department issued 12 citations, investigated five wrecks (no injuries) and made five arrests, on the following charges: possession of marijuana with intent to sell; indecent exposure, possession of a Schedule 3 narcotic; simple assault, indecent exposure, disturbing the peace; simple assault; and warrant served for count.
Oxford Police officers also responded to six alarms, two suspicious persons, three disturbances, one ambulance assist, six motorist assists, one simple assault, one larceny, one trespass and one welfare concern.
The University Police Department responded to the following incidents Monday, April 7:
Traffic assist on Coliseum Drive, three motor vehicle accidents with property damage, two ambulances needed, two careless driving, four speeding, burglary – taking items from auto, hit-and-run accident, larceny, driving wrong way on one-way street in Kincannon Hall parking lot and driving without headlights.
The Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls Monday, April 7:
– Natural Products – Workers broke a pipe, which leaked water into the air handler detector, at Natural Products, at 8:06 a.m.
– First responders stood by while they changed out chlorine in tanks, at Winchester, at 1:06 p.m.
