The Daily Crime Report for April 30

The Oxford Police Department investigated six wrecks, issued 32 traffic citations and made four arrests, on the following charges: public drunk and providing a false identification; shoplifting (misdemeanor); first-offense DUI, no proof of valid insurance, switched tag and simple assault; and seatbelt violation, suspended driver’s license, no proof of valid insurance, possession of drug paraphernalia and out of jurisdiction warrant.
Oxford Police also responded to reports of suspicious activity, eight disturbances, four ambulance assists, two suspicious people, four careless drivers, three alarms, petit larceny, simple assault, two credit card frauds, animal complaint, 911 hang-up call, trespassing and lost property.
The University Police Department responded to the following incidents Tuesday, April 29:
Intoxicated person at Brown Hall, traffic assists on Coliseum Drive, motor vehicle accident on Fraternity Drive, harassment at the Physical Plant office, larceny at Stockard Hall, hit-and-run accident, burglary – auto parts and accessories at Phi Delta Theta fraternity house, hit-and-run accident at ID center – old Athletics, three running a stop sign and a disturbance – fight at Kincannon Hall.
The Oxford Fire Department responded to the following incidents Tuesday, April 29:
– Wreck, no entrapment, at the Highway 334 at Highway 6 bridge, at 7:54 a.m. – Burned element on stove, no fire, on 10 PR 3077, at 5:54 p.m.
