Oxford Police Department investigators arrested George Doyle, 25, from Pope, and Tammie Benson, 36, from Batesville, on a related charge of felony, after Walmart Loss Prevention signed charges of felony shoplifting. The two were arrested Wednesday, and bond was set at $500 for each Doyle and Benson.
Oxford Police Department investigators arrested Terence Slack, 51, from Oxford, in connection with the March 22 burglary of the Texaco Convenience Store on University Avenue. Slack was arrested April 1, and his bond is set at $5,000. 
The Oxford Police Department investigated six wrecks, issued 27 tickets and made six arrests, on the following charges: two careless driving, first-offense DUI; leaving

the scene of an accident, possession of a Schedule 4 drug, first-offense DUI; out of jurisdiction warrant served; public drunk, possession of drug paraphernalia; and no insurance, suspended driver’s license.
Oxford Police also responded to reports of six disturbances, three welfare concerns, two malicious mischief, two suspicious persons, suspicious activity, counterfeit currency, grand larceny, littering, shoplifting, fire department assist, ambulance assist, alarm, lost property and code enforcement violation – sign ordinance violation.
The University Police Department responded to the following incidents on Wednesday, April 2:

Two running stop sign, nine vehicle stops, two traffic assists, vandalism – malicious mischief reported at the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity house, a hit-and-run accident at the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority, three speeding, seatbelt violation, disturbance, loud/unnecessary music or noise, petit larceny at the student union and an improper turn.
The Oxford Fire Department responded to the following call, on Wednesday, April 2:
– Grass fire at Sisk Avenue and Highway 7, at 10:39 a.m., and completed at 11:01 a.m.
