The Daily Crime Report for April 1
The Oxford Police Department investigated 11 wrecks, issued 22 tickets and made one arrest, on the following charges: no insurance, false identifying information.
Oxford Police also responded to reports of five suspicious persons, suspicious activity, a 911 hang-up call, disturbance, alarm, civil matter, unauthorized use of another credit card, simple assault, malicious mischief, code enforcement violation – junked vehicles on residential property, improper parking and welfare concern.
The University Police Department reported the following incidents:
– Monday, March 31: Speeding, four traffic assists, three running a stop sign, a motor vehicle accident, a hit-and-run accident, larceny of bicycles at Stockard Hall, careless driving, and possession of drug paraphernalia at Kincannon Hall.
The Oxford Fire Department responded to the following call:
– Burned food activated the smoke detector at The Village Building No. 134, Apt. 7, at 9:45 p.m. Monday.
