Snow Day in Mississippi Creates Beautiful Scenes
Mississippians around the state woke up to winter wonderland, well as close as a light dusting of snow can create a wonderland in the usual humid and hot state.
Schools, businesses and libraries closed their doors today, Jan. 22, when various news media predicted a day of snow, sleet and ice. North Mississippi received a heavier dusting of snow, while other places in Mississippi received light dustings. Nonetheless, the great folks in Mississippi made the most of it- since they rarely see any snow.
Although, the snow and sleet have seemed to stop for now in most places, the National Weather Service has predicted that some areas will have blowing snow after noon and patchy snow before midnight.
We’ve compiled a photo gallery from around Oxford, Ole Miss, the Mississippi Delta and various small towns around the state to check out our “Snowmageddon of 2016.”
Have fun, but be safe!
