The Ole Miss basketball team cruised to a 94-53 victory over the North Alabama Lions in an exhibition game on Sunday. The Rebels had three different players reach double figures in scoring.

Coach Andy Kennedy’s squad was led in scoring by freshman guard Devontae Shuler with 18 points and three rebounds in his Rebel debut. He hit four three-pointers from beyond the arc.
“He is so talented,” Kennedy said. “(Shuler) is electric and as talented as we have ever signed here, guard-wise. He can do it all. He has great instincts with the ball.”
Teammates junior Terence Davis and senior Deandre Burnett also got into the double-figure scoring action with 13 and 11 points respectively.
Ole Miss put a total of 14 players on the court against the Lions. Twelve Rebels found the bucket.
The Rebels’ defense held North Alabama to only a 27.8 shooting percentage in the game. Ole Miss shot 33.3 percent from three-point land and 49.3 percent overall in the game.
Ole Miss will tip the 2017-18 season off on Friday against Louisiana at 7 p.m., at the Pavilion at Ole Miss.
