SEC Power Rankings — Week 5

Screen Shot 2014-09-29 at 11.12.17 AMOle Miss and Alabama now square off to determine who will be the favorite in the west moving forward. Memphis must still be in a state of shock after seeing what happened to “their high powered offense”. The Ole Miss defense (first team) has not given up a TD in 4 games and the Rebs are now “officially” 4-0 for the first time in 44 YEARS!
South Carolina has basically been removed now from any serious consideration for a major bowl with Arkansas pretty much in that same boat. The Hogs almost pulled it off against A&M, but just couldn’t close the deal. Tennessee, likewise, versus Georgia.

This is the best week yet with several key matchups starting with Bama coming to Oxford. A&M will be traveling to State and LSU visits Auburn for the “marquee contests”. Missouri, despite last week’s loss to Indiana, still appears to be the best apple in the barrel from the weak east and has an off week. Florida is on the road to Knoxville for a game between two struggling programs.
In conclusion there are still 5 undefeated teams….all in the WEST!
