SEC Power Rankings: Reflection On The Positives
Now that the opener against Florida State is in the books, let’s all take a deep breath and reflect on the positives (and there were many) that came out of Camping World Stadium.
To start with, we faced probably the best QB we’ll see all year. Also, Alabama aside possibly, we faced the best defensive line that we’ll see all season. Several pure freshmen made their outstanding debuts versus the Seminoles and can be counted on in key roles down the line. Playing an away game against a top line opponent (Reb fans were outnumbered 3.5 to 1) is never easy. One highly respectable service had the Noles ranked #1 nationally in preseason. It’s easy to understand this now.
Here’s how the SEC stacks up as of now….
Here’s how Hoppy Langley sizes up the Wofford game. The Hop man is looking for a 55-7 “blowout win” as the Rebs get healthy and provide an opportunity for many young players to show their talent. Hoppy says we’ll “be walking the dog” as it should get late early for the Terriers.
Looking around the league to this Saturday’s games, three games of maximum interest to Reb fans are SC at State; AR at TCU and Tennessee versus VA Tech in Bristol. We could possibly be competing with the Vols for a key bowl in December so this is why this matchup is meaningful in early September.
Reflecting back on the FSU game returning to Oxford, one thought that continued to resurface is how exciting this Ole Miss team truly is! Hotty Toddy my friends.
