SEC Nation - April 16, 2014
This is similar to ESPN’s College GameDay, who visited the Grove for the Alabama game two weeks ago. The SEC Network tours different Southeastern Conference schools for the matchup game of the week. This week, the SEC Network will be covering the undefeated Rebels’ homecoming game against the Tennessee Volunteers.
SEC-Nation-TNFriday afternoon at the Overby Center for Southern Journalism and Politics, members from the SEC Network will be talking about the game. This free event is open to the public and will last only an hour. The university will provide free parking in the lot in-between the Overby Center and Lamar building.
During this event, beginning at 5:30 p.m., the audience can ask as many questions as they want as well as learn more about the Network.
The Overby event will highlight a number of ESPN officials, including senior vice president of programming for ESPN’s college networks Justin Connolly, who now supervises the SEC Network; Charlie Hussey, who is originally from Oxford and is associate commissioner of TV matters for the SEC, and Stephanie Druley, senior vice president of production for ESPN’s college networks. And finally Kaylee Hartung, college sports reporter for the SEC Network and ESPN, who will be making an appearance Saturday with the SEC Nation team.
DCIM105GOPROAfter this on-campus event, Ole Miss students and fans can head to the east side of the Square for the third annual SquareJam. This free event will be held Friday night at 6:30 pm. SquareJam will include a 3-point contest, dunk contest, and skill competition featuring the Ole Miss men’s and women’s basketball teams and guests from the SEC Network.
SEC Nation, the on-campus pre-game show, will air Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. This will be the show’s first time in the Grove, so Rebel fans better make it memorable.
