The NFL Combine is less than two weeks away, and six former Ole Miss player will participate in the event, the league announced Thursday.
It’s no surprise that offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil, wide receiver Laquon Treadwell and defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche are among the list of participants, as all three are projected as first-round draft picks.
However, offensive tackle Fahn Cooper, wide receiver Cody Core and linebacker C.J. Johnson will also take part in the annual event.
Tunsil likely can’t do anything to help his stock, but the rest of the Ole Miss participants can help themselves.
Scouts would like nothing more than to see Treadwell put up an impressive 40-yard dash time, and Nkemdiche’s draft stock will likely depend on his one-on-one meetings with teams to discuss his off-the-field incidents, which include falling from an Atlanta hotel window in December.
As for Cooper, Core and Johnson, they have an opportunity to really jump up some boards, and possibly even become late-round draft picks.
The NFL Combine will take place Feb. 23-29 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
