Rebels Roll over Crimson Tide 82-74 on the Road
In a game that was a must-win for the Ole Miss men’s basketball team and its NCAA Tournament hopes, the Rebels came out victorious over Alabama 82-74 in Tuscaloosa.
Coming into tonight’s game, the Rebels had lost two straight games for the first time all season. With its postseason berth on life support, the Rebel team came up big and got the win on the road.
The victory wasn’t easy for the Rebels however. After trailing at halftime 30-27, the Rebels outscored the Tide 55-44 in the second half to earn the 8-point victory.
Leading the way for the Rebels in scoring was Stefan Moody. Moody finished with 25 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists. Moody was joined in scoring by Ladarius “Snoop” White who finished with 19 points, and Aaron Jones who chipped in 10 points and 5 rebounds off the bench. The Rebels finished the game shooting 47 percent from the floor and improving their record to 18-2 when shooting over 40 percent.
The Ole Miss bench attacked the basket for 38 points compared to the Tide’s 5 from the backups.
With the win, Ole Miss improves to 20-10 overall and 11-6, in the SEC. With the win tonight this is Andy Kennedy’s seventh 20 win season at Ole Miss.
The next test for Ole Miss will be Saturday in the Tad Pad for senior night at 8 p.m. against Vanderbilt.
