Rebels Prepare for Memphis with Stenhouse during Bye Week
The Ole Miss Rebels football team took to the practice field on Tuesday as they start to prepare for the Memphis Tigers after a bye for the undefeated Rebels this weekend.
This week, the Rebels were able to give a lot of snaps to the second as well as work on things from the past week in some periods.
Conditioning will be looked at during practice this week while preparing for the Tigers on Sept. 27. Coach Hugh Freeze wants to have the starters ready to play 70 snaps a game, where in the past two games the starters saw action in 25-30 snaps.
There happened to be a new onlooker watching the Rebels practice in NASCAR driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr., the driver of the No. 17 Roush Fenway Ford in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Steinhouse is a lifelong Rebel fan from Olive Branch.
Freeze gave Stenhouse a personal jersey and helmet, and Stenhouse returned the favor, gifting Freeze his own personal driver’s suits.
Steinhouse was on the Ole Miss campus to promote the Talladega GEICO weekend Oct. 17-19 since Talladega is offering a college ticket price to college students of 19 dollars.
