Rebels Host Gators on Hardwood Saturday

Ole Miss returns to the friendly confines of Tad Smith Coliseum Saturday as they host the Florida Gators with tip off set for 5 p.m. and will be carried on the SEC Network.

Ole Miss (11-7, 2-3 SEC) looks to get back to .500 in the conference after dropping Saturdays game on the road to the Georgia Bulldogs. After leading at half-time the Bulldogs came back in the second half.

Junior Stefan Moody tied a career-high 26 points against Georgia. He is averaging 19.3 points per game and shooting 42.4 precent from behind the 3-point arc in SEC play.

The Ole Miss defense leads the conference in field goal percentage defense at .383 and eighth in blocked shots with 4.0 a game. The time also leads the nation in free throw percentage at 79.8 precent.

As the Rebels and Gators have split the last two meetings, over the past eight games six of them have been decided by six points or less.

Florida is coming into Oxford looking to get back to it’s winning ways after falling to LSU 79-61 at home on Tuesday. The Gators have now lost back-to-back conference games to Georgia and the Tigers and the sit at 3-2 in SEC and 10-8 overall.

Junior Dorian Finney-Smith leads the team in scoring averaging 13.6 points per game and 5.6 rebounds.

This game will be the 106th meeting between the two schools with Florida holding a 62-43 advantage in the series.  Prior to the 2013 SEC Championship win for Ole Miss the Gators had defeated the Rebels six straight times.
