OXFORD, Miss. – Ole Miss volleyball won its second consecutive SEC match on Sunday when the Rebels defeated LSU, 3-1.

Nia Washington had a career-high 28 kills (fourth-most in a single match in program history) as Ole Miss improved to 12-3 overall and 2-1 in SEC play. Sasha Ratliff also became the Rebels’ all-time leader in blocks after four blocks against LSU. She now has 439 in her career.

The Rebels won the first set of Sunday’s match 25-20 and followed with an identical score in the second set, leaving Ole Miss one set away from securing the win.

However, LSU fought back in the third set, winning it 25-21. The Tigers couldn’t repeat the feat in the fourth set with Ole Miss winning 25-19 and securing the 3-1 match victory.

“I’ve said publicly, and it’s true, I’ve had a lot of wonderful things come my way. But personally, the greatest thing I ever accomplished was when I was named the starting quarterback at Ole Miss. That was my childhood dream, as it was thousands of kids in Mississippi.”
