Rebel Basketball Splits Double Header on Sunday

The Lady Rebels hosted Middle Tennessee State Sunday afternoon to open up a doubleheader at the Tad Smith Coliseum.
Coach Matt Insell’s squad took on his father’s team and the elder Insell team defeated his son’s team by the score of 71-65.

Ole Miss was led by sophomore guard and Oxford native Erika Sisk with a season-high 20 points including a prefect 6-6 from the free-throw line. Senior Tia Faleru added 19 points to try to give the Rebels there fourth win of the season.
Middle Tennessee State was able to push through the Ole Miss wave of comebacks by pushing their lead back out to a comfortable margin. The Blue Raiders were led in scoring by Cheyenne Parker with 25 points and 10 rebounds.
The Rebels will return to the court on Nov. 25 as they play host to Southeast Missouri State with tip off set at 3 p.m.
The Ole Miss Rebels defeated Northern Arizona Sunday night by the score of 80-74.
Ole Miss was led by senior guard Jarvis Summers led the team in scoring with 22 points against NAU. Summers was not the only Rebel to get into double figures in scoring as Stefan Moody and LaDarius White each contributed 13 and 12 points respectively.
Ole Miss took a 37-32 lead into the locker room at the half and were 12-13 from the free throw line for 92.3 precent in the first half. After the halftime intermission the Rebels picked right back off where they started the end of the first 20 minutes of play.
NAU was led in the game by guard Quinton Upshur, who scored 19 points and was 5-9 from the three point line. His teammate Jaleni Neely was also 5-9 from beyond the three point arc for a total of 17 points.
The Rebels move to 3-1 on the season and are 2-0 in the Emerald Coast Classic as they move ahead to face Creighton on Friday and either Cincinnati or Middle Tennessee State on Saturday in Niceville, Florida.
