Baseball is right around the corner, and on Thursday, Collegiate Baseball Newspaper released their preseason top-40 poll, which had Ole Miss ranked No. 25.
The Rebels return two of the best arms in the Southeastern Conference in junior right-handers Bobby Wahl and Mike Mayers, but there a lot of question marks throughout a lineup that lost Alex Yarbrough and Matt Snyder from a year ago.
Ole Miss was one of 10 ranked teams from the SEC.
Arkansas was named preseason No. 1. The other notable rankings are No. 3 Vanderbilt, No. 4 LSU, No. 7 South Carolina, No. 8 Kentucky, No. 13 Mississippi State, No. 24 Florida, No. 26 Texas A&M, No. 29 Georgia and No. 33 Southern Mississippi.
The Rebels open the 2013 season on Feb. 15 with a three-game series against No. 15 TCU, who defeated Ole Miss two games in the College Station Regional last  year to end the Rebels’ season.
