We’re on the search for the Great Pumpkin! Here are some pumpkin patches to wait in — well, to pick from. We do have to carve out jack-o-laterns to deter any Oxonian spirits from spooking us.
St. Peter’s Episcopal Church

St. Peter’s is well known for its annual pumpkin patch, appearing on its lawn as early as Sept. 30th. All pumpkin purchases goes to the church’s youth and children activities. Their pumpkin sizes range from hefty to miniature. It’s also a popular location to take the annual “Fall is here!” photo for social media around Oxford!
Also for the 18th year in a row the ghostly story teller Rebecca Jernigan and Jessica Sanchez will be sharing the classic Mexican folk tale “La Llorana,” the weeping woman and other tales to chill your bones. Anne Gilstrap will join them and Mariamne Young will be playing a musical note or two. The public is invited to attend Sunday evening, Oct. 29th at 6:30 p.m. Feel free to bring a blanket or lawn chairs!

And for those of you who want an experience, take a 35 minutes drive to Pontotoc to visit this farm. The general admission price is $9.00 but it includes a wagon ride through the farm to the pumpkin patch where one can pick a pumpkin for free (but only during the day!) There is also a pumpkin painting station for those who want to go ahead decorate. Check out the link to see more entertainment waiting for y’all in Pontotoc. It’s open Tuesday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and closes at 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday it’s open from 2 to 6 p.m.
Well let us know if y’all know of any great pumpkin patches that we may have missed!
