Oxford Maker’s Market Returns to Powerhouse Saturday
The monthly Oxford Maker’s Market will return this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Powerhouse.
The market will feature local artists who will offer merchandise from magnets to paintings to jewelry to name a few handmade goods, such as The Art of Dixie, a New Albany-based purveyor of fine Southern-made goods.
The Oxford Maker’s Market is a local arts and crafts market based in Oxford. It occurs every first Saturday of each month. In warmer seasons it can be found on the Courthouse’s lawn at the Square. In colder months or bad weather people can visit it at the Powerhouse.
The market’s goal is to create a space for underrepresented artists to showcase any and all styles of handmade creative works. A diverse selection of art mediums from sparkling hoops to magnets made with vintage magazine cuts can be found there. Also the performing artists are welcome at each event.
There is an area for children to sell their goods and get a firsthand experience of entrepreneurship.
For those interested in the Oxford Maker’s Market can email them at oxfordmakersmarket@gmail.com or visit its Facebook page.
