Oxford Maker’s Market Reloads for February 6

After a successful January gathering, Oxford’s favorite art and crafts market, Maker’s Market, will set up for its second sale of the year at the Powerhouse Community Arts Center on University Avenue.

According to its website (OxfordMakersMarket) the Oxford Maker’s Market, founded in 2009, is a local art and crafts market based in Oxford. It sets up on the first Saturday of each month and operates from 10 a.m. through 4 p.m. at various locations around Oxford. The market is committed to underexposed and unrepresented talent and handmade goods of any and all styles. It provides an outlet for vendors of a wide variety of mediums and a live performance area for performing artists at each event. Basically, if it is handmade or homegrown it is acceptable to sell at market. The market provides a children’s market area for budding entrepreneurs as well.

Cass Roberts will be the featured entertainment at this month’s Maker’s Market set for the Powerhouse on February 6.

The event, scheduled for Saturday, February 6, from 10 a.m. through 4 p.m., is expecting 25 vendors for this, its second sale of 2016. Also scheduled are a children’s art market, The YoknapaTaco and B&E barbecue food trucks and live music beginning at noon featuring Cass Roberts who will entertain until 3.

Market organizers would like to reiterate that it is their practice to allow first-time vendors, non-profits and fundraising organizations to participate in the monthly event free of charge.
