Oxford Homework Club to Host Summer Camp
More Campers and Better Activities Than Ever
Oxford Homework Club will again host its Battle Zone Summer Camp June 23-27 at its Anchorage Building location, just off the Square. Campers who have completed grades 2-6 will attend the all-day camp to enjoy intriguing math, science, and history activities; walking field trips; and outdoor recreation.
Andy Field, an Army officer and teacher, leads the camp, teaching campers valuable leadership lessons by allowing them to take turns leading others while piquing interest in math, science, and local history.
“In the past, we’ve made things blow up, dissected cow eyes, and taken a Civil Rights tour of Ole Miss,” said Field. “This year, we are keeping those and adding a data collection archaeology event and the construction of a geodesic dome big enough to stand in!”
