Oxford Daily Crime Report: Thursday – Sunday, Nov. 27-30

Oxford police responded to the following incidents: 18 alarms, 17 suspicious activities, 16 disturbances, 12 noise complaints, eight malicious mischief, seven petit larcenies, six simple assaults, five welfare concerns, four lost properties, four fire dept. assists, four improper parking, three 911 hang up calls, three ambulance assists, three careless drivers two harassing phone calls, two code violations, two animal complaints, a false pretense, a mis-dialed 911, a motorist assist, a house burglary at Highland Place, and 13 auto-burglaries at (2) Nottinghill Drive, (2) Pizza Hut, Berkley Cove, Wellington Cove, Chancery building lot, Something Southern, Hampton Inn, Rainbow Cleaners, Regions Bank, MS Federal Credit Union, and First National Bank.
Oxford police investigated 30 wrecks, issued 110 traffic citations, and made 30 arrests on the following charges: (9) public intoxication, (5) DUI, (3) no headlights with DUI, (2) possession of drug paraphernalia, (2) suspended driver’s license, a possession of schedule II narcotics, a warrant served, a minor in possession of alcohol, a domestic violence, running a red light with DUI, no driver’s license with DUI, a careless driving with no diver’s license and DUI, a speeding with suspended driver’s license, and no diver’s license with no car insurance and no seatbelt.
University police responded to the following incidents: a report of a suspicious person at Tad Smith Coliseum, a grand larceny more than $1,000 at Farley Hall, a report of assault from Baptist Memorial Hospital, a motor vehicle accident involving two cars at Jackson Avenue Center, a simple assault in the Grove, an aggravated assault with dangerous weapon in the Grove, a disturbance at the Union, a vandalism to vehicle at Northgate Apartments, a simple assault at Stockard Hall, and a moving violation per speeding with suspended driver’s license at University Place.
Oxford fire dept. responded to the following incidents: a general fire alarm at 1431 South 10th, a fire alarm malfunction on sixth floor of Stewart Hall, a report of fire that turned out to be a neighbor burning food at The Mark, a tree on fire at 424 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, a grass fire behind Buildings 11 and 12 at High Point Condos, an assistance to EMS for removing the driver from a vehicle rollover at 204 Country Club Road, a smoke detector activated by cooking at 4325 Mockingbird, a prank pull of a fire alarm on balcony at Rooster’s, an ambulance standby for a fight with a bloody nose and knocked out teeth behind Stockard Hall, a reported smell of gas with no discovery of the source at State Veterans Home, a smoke detector activated by cooking at 116 Leighton Road, and a report of vehicle smoking from a wreck that turned out to be steam from the radiator at Jackson Ave. and Highway 6 West.
