Greg Hervey – Armed Robbery

On Tuesday, July 8th officers responded to the Hampton Inn on Sisk Avenue in reference to an armed robbery. The suspects fled the scene prior to the responding officer’s arrival. After a thorough investigation, detectives were able to identify the suspects. One suspect, Keith Murray of Water Valley (deceased). The other suspect, Gregory Hervey, 21 of Water Valley, was located and arrested on November 19th. Hervey was charged with Armed Robbery (97-3-79) and given a bond of $50,000.
Treston Dowell – Strong arm Robbery

Dowdle was in custody of Desoto County Sheriff Office for unrelated charges but had information in regards to robberies in Oxford. We interviewed him and he admitted that he robbed a couple people around Oxford. Dowdle stated the incident took place late Saturday night early Sunday morning after the October 4, 2014 Ole Miss and Alabama football game. He has been charged and his bond has been revoked at this time.
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: four suspicious activities, three alarms, two noise complaints, two animal assists, two welfare concerns, two ambulance assists, two simple assaults, an improper parking, a motorist assist, a disturbance, a domestic violence, a fire dept. assist, a 911 hang up call, and a lost property.
Oxford police investigated five wrecks, issued 13 traffic citations, and made 10 arrests on the following charges: (8) public intoxication, a careless driver with DUI, and a domestic violence per simple assault.
Oxford police discovered no code enforcement violations.
University police responded to the following incidents: two traffic details at All American Drive, a traffic detail at Chucky Mullins Drive, a traffic detail at Confederate Drive, a vandalism at Kappa Alpha Theta house, a vandalism at Women’s Terrance Lot, a warrant served at the Minor Hall, and a larceny at Music Building.
Oxford Fire Dept. responded to the following calls: a burned pizza box caused by turning the oven on with the pizza box still within at Lexington Point #H10, a smoke detector activated by work on the alarm system at Oxford Market Place Suite 5, and a smoke detector malfunction at Kappa Delta house Room 23.
