Oxford Daily Crime Report for Friday to Sunday, Sept. 26 – 28

Investigators with Oxford Police Dept. made one felony arrest on Thursday, Sept. 25th.
Roderick Hollingsworth – felony shoplifting

The investigators with Oxford Police Dept. arrested Roderick Hollingsworth, 23 years of age from Cleveland, for felony shoplifting. That day Walmart contacted OPD about a shoplifter. Hollingsworth was taken into custody and it was then revealed he stole over $1,100 worth of merchandise from Walmart. Hollingsworth was charged with shoplifting and given a bond of $5,000.
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: 12 disturbances, 11 alarms, nine lost properties, seven malicious mischief, six welfare concerns, five noise complaints, four suspicious activities, four careless drivers, three animal assists, three improper parking, three domestic violence incidents, two ambulance assists, two fire dept. assists, two petit larcenies, two narcotics, two burglaries at The Connection and Hyatt Loop, a simple assault, a trespassing, a grand larceny, a 911 hang up call, and a credit card fraud.
Oxford police investigated 25 vehicle wrecks, issued 100 traffic citations, and made 31 arrests on the following charges: (19) public intoxications, (2) disorderly conducts, a public intoxication with possession of marijuana, a public intoxication with disorderly conduct and possession of schedule 4 narcotic, a disorderly conduct with littering and noise violation from a home, a possession of marijuana in a vehicle and a warrant served, a driver without car insurance and no driver’s license who gave false information to a police officer, a DUI, a DUI and failure to yield to a traffic control device, a DUI with speeding and no car tag, a DUI without driver’s license and leaving the scene of the accident, a driver with a suspended drivers license.
Oxford police made 11 post-arrest citations for the following charges: (3) minor in possession of alcohol, (3) illegal taxis, (2) noise violation from home, a noise violation from a car, a littering, and a possession of drug paraphernalia.
Oxford police discovered no code enforcement violations.
University Police responded to the following incidents: a disturbance of loud music/unnecessary noises at the Intramural fields, a minor in possession at Stewart Hall, a disturbance at Lamar Hall, a possession of alcohol on dry campus at Poole Drive, a petit larceny at Crosby Hall, a petit larceny report to University Police dept., a service call for an ambulance at University Place, two service calls for ambulances at Grove, two service calls for ambulances at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, possession of drug paraphernalia at Brown Hall, an accidental hit and run at Intramural Fields, a public drunk at the Union, a petit larceny at Sigma Nu house, and a grand larceny more than $500 at the Grove.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls: a water flow alarm at Lafayette Place Building 2000, some burned food activated smoke detector at Canterbury Crest 117, a smoke detector activation at Inn at Ole Miss Ballroom, a general fire alarm malfunction at 207 St. Andrews Circle, a community dumpster had a small fire at Hotspur Lane, an unfounded report on smelling of smoke at 329 Cristman Drive, an unfounded call on a smell of natural gas due to monitor not showing any leaks at 115 Leighton Road, and a general fire alarm malfunction at 100 Longest Road.
