Daphne Rogers – Shoplifting

Daphne Nicole RogersOn Wednesday, January 21, 2015, investigators of the Oxford police department served an arrest warrant on Daphne Rogers, 35 years of age from Oxford, for felony shoplifting. On Tuesday, January 20, 2015, officers responded to Kroger for the report that Rogers was taking merchandise without paying. Rogers was later arrested and charged with felony shoplifting. Roger’s bond was set at $5,000.


 

James Hudson – Shoplifting

James Lewis HudsonOn Wednesday, January 21, 2015, investigators of the Oxford police department served an arrest warrant on James Hudson, 50 years of age from Memphis, Tennessee, for felony shoplifting. On Tuesday, January 20, 2015, officers responded to Kroger for the report that Hudson was taking merchandise without paying. Hudson was later arrested and charged with felony shoplifting. Hudson’s bond was set at $5,000.

Rogers and Hudson were together.


 

Anitra Phillips – Embezzlement

Anitra Desre PhillipsOn Wednesday, January 21, 2015, Investigators of the Oxford police department served an arrest warrant on Anitra Phillips, 33 years of age from Taylor.
Phillips was an employee of Sneed’s Hardware where she embezzled a cash amount that was over the felony amount. Phillips was booked for Felony- Embezzlement 97-23-19 and her bond was set at $5,000.


 

Oxford police responded to the following incidents: seven disturbances, six suspicious activities, five petit larcenies, four alarms, two civil matters, two welfare concerns, a simple assault, a careless driving, an 911 hang up call, an ambulance assist, a recovered property, a counterfeit currency, a fire department assist, a motorist assist, a fraud and a malicious mischief.

Oxford police investigated 10 wrecks, issued 32 traffic citations, and made 11 arrests on the following charges: (3) public intoxication, (2) minors in possession of alcohol, a resisting arrest with disorderly conduct, a leaving the scene of accident with DUI, a disorderly conduct, a possession of fake identification, a possession of drug paraphernalia, and a driving with expired tag and a suspended driver’s license.

University police responded to the following incidents: a service call for an ambulance at Kincannon Hall, a vehicle accident at the Ridges, and an auto-larceny on Sorority Row.

Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls: a fire alarm activated by people working on the elevator at Natural Products, a smoke detector activated by workers at 623 North 14th Street, and a cancelled call en route to Baptist Memorial Hospital.
