Oxford police responded to the following incidents: four alarms, four suspicious activities, two motorist assists, two careless drivers, a loud music disturbance, a 911 hang up call, an extortion, a petit larceny, a lost property, and a disturbing the peace.

Oxford police investigated five wrecks, issued 61 traffic citations and made seven arrests on the following charges: a failure to comply; a possession of marijuana with intent; a public drunk with resisting arrests, a failure to comply and an open container; a careless driver with no driver’s license nor liability insurance but with a DUI to first degree; a possession of paraphernalia with expired driver’s license and no seatbelt; a driver with no car tag nor car insurance but with a busted taillight and a suspended driver’s license and also a warrant was served on behalf of Clarksdale police department; a careless driver with no liability insurance but with a DUI to first degree.

University police responded to the following incidents: a moving violation by a driver without a license disregarding a traffic control device on Hathorn Road; a vehicle stop on Hathorn Road; a vehicle stop on Hill Drive; a motor vehicle accident at Insight Park; a vehicle stop at Big Valley Lot; and a traffic detail on Chucky Mullins Drive.

Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls: two cancelled calls for the Baptist Memorial Hospital; a smoke detector activated by cooking at The Village building 112; a person pulled a fire alarm at the Oxford Care and Rehab; a cancelled call for Captain D’s; and a smoke detector malfunction on fifth floor outside room 514 at Kincannon Hall.
