Oxford Crime Report: Monday, March 2
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: three disturbances, three suspicious activities, three noise violations, three petit larcenies, two civil matters, a fire department assist, an auto-burglary at IHOP, an alarm, a welfare concern, a harassing phone call, and an animal assist.
Oxford police investigated three wrecks, issued 26 traffic citations and served two warrants for arrest.
University police department responded to the following incidents: three vehicle stops on Rebel Drive, a vehicle stop on Student Union Drive, an auto-theft at Jackson Avenue Center, a petit larceny at Turner Center, a petit larceny at University Police Department, a petit larceny at Peabody Hall, and a vehicle stop on Fraternity Row.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls: a report of a possible structure fire at The Connection that was discovered to be a controlled burn on a nearby property on Country Road 300; and a hallway smoke detector activated by burned food in room 105 at Hefley Hall.
