Devin Wilkinson – Possession of Weapon by Felon

On Friday, March 6, 2015, the investigators of the Oxford police department charged Devin Wilkinson, 23 year old of Abbeville, Mississippi, with Possession of Weapon by Felon.
On Wednesday, March 4, 2015 Wilkinson was stopped for speeding. During the investigation of the traffic stop a pistol was found inside the car. Wilkinson is a convicted felon and was then charged with Possession of Weapon by Felon (97-37-5). His bond was set at $1,000.00.
Jordan Posey – Theft of Motor Vehicle

On Wednesday, March 3, 2015, the Oxford police department arrested Jordan Taylor Posey, 24 year old of Tupelo, Mississippi, for stealing a motor vehicle. On Wednesday March 4, 2015, a victim reported a vehicle was stolen from Oxford. The victim advised that Jordan Posey was seen taking the vehicle and signed charges on Jordan Posey. Investigators were able to locate and return the car. Posey was arrested and given a bond of $2,500.
Donny Wynn – Aggravated Assault

On Thursday, December 5, 2014, the Oxford police department arrested Donny Wynn, 41 year old of Canton, Mississippi, for aggravated assault. On Tuesday, March 3, 2015, the Oxford police Department received a call of a fight in a bar on the Square. Through our investigation we found Donny Wynn hit a male multiple times with a beer bottle. Donny Wynn was arrested and given a bond of $2,500.
Oxford police responded to the following incidents: 14 suspicious activities, eight disturbances, eight alarms, five welfare concerns, four noise complaints, four malicious mischief, three ambulance assists, three improper parking, three 911 hang up calls, two recovered properties, two motorist assists, two fire department assists, two careless drivings, an animal complaint, a shoplifting, a simple assault, a trespassing, a public intoxication and an auto-burglary at Karen Drive.
Oxford police investigated 15 wrecks, issued 112 traffic citations and made 11 arrests on the following charges: a shoplifting; a suspended driver’s license; a possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle; a careless driving with a DUI; a driving with no headlights and a DUI; a careless driving with a suspended driver’s license and a DUI; a a public intoxication with resisting arrests and a possession of drug paraphernalia; a careless driving with suspended driver’s license and a DUI; a speeding with no car insurance and a suspended driver’s license; a running a stop sign with a suspended driver’s license with no car insurance but with possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrests; a speeding with no car insurance bith with possession of drug paraphernalia; and no car tag with a minor in possession of alcohol.
University police responded to the following incidents: a motor vehicle accident on Chucky Mullins Drive, three vehicle stops at University Place, a traffic detail on University Avenue, a vehicle stop on Manning Way, a vehicle stop on University Avenue, a vehicle stop on Rebel Drive, an accidental hit and run at Martin Hall, an accidental hit and run at Stockard Hall, a vehicle stop on Sorority Row, a traffic detail at Tad Smith Coliseum, a vehicle stop on Alumni Drive, two public drunks at Tad Smith Coliseum, a traffic detail at the baseball stadium, a vehicle stop with moving violation issued for careless driving on Student Union Drive, a vandalism per malicious mischief at Burns Hall, a vehicle stop on Hathorn Road, two vehicle stops at Insight Park, a traffic detail on University Avenue, a petit larceny at Sigma Pi fraternity, and a possession of drug paraphernalia at Campus Walk.
Oxford Fire Department responded to the following calls: two cancelled calls to 200 Washington Avenue #14; a car hit a gas line at the Shell station on Highway 6 West where the fire department then washed the parking lot; a sprinkler pipe broke in the concession stand at the Swayze Field; a sprinkler pipe broke at Turnberry Condominiums Building M; a fire in a bathroom that was extinguished upon the fire department’s arrival at 910 CB Webb #2; and a water flow alarm malfunction within an office at The Hub.
