Aug. 18 marks the first day of school for Oxford school students; however, students planning to attend school this fall in the school district must register online first.
Online school registration is currently open for new and returning students through the school district website at www.oxfordsd.org/registration.
“Parents and families are encouraged to register their child online now for the next school year,” said Brian Harvey, Oxford School District Superintendent. “Students must be registered online for school before they can drop off necessary registration documents to their schools. Also, the online school registration process is the first necessary step students must take before middle and high school students can participate in the upcoming One to One Digital Learning Initiative next school year.”
School Registration Information for Returning and New School Students
The first week in July returning students — students who attended school in the Oxford School District at the end of the 2013-2014 school year — should have received a letter from the school they are entering. In the letter is the returning student’s snapcode, a required registration code the student will need to be fully registered online by a parent or legal guardian.
“If a returning student didn’t receive their specific letter with their snapcode in the mail, then a parent should call the child’s school that they will be attending next year, “ said Harvey. “Their child’s school should be able to give them their child’s specific snapcode needed to register the child online.”
New students — students who did not attend school in the Oxford School District at the end of the 2013-2014 school year — can also register online for the upcoming school year on the school district website (www.oxfordsd.org/registration). The school district’s online school registration is available in both English and Spanish.
Required Registration Documents and Events
All new students and returning students entering grades Kindergarten, 2, 4, 6 or 9 must turn in required registration documents. The required registration documents include: 1) one which must be a mortgage document or property deed, or an apartment or home lease, and 2) one which must be a current utility bill (a water, gas, or electricity bill), or a filed Homestead Exemption application form.
Only incoming Kindergarten students must provide an original birth certificate, and only incoming seventh graders must have their Tdap vaccination verified before starting school this fall. All required documents must be up-to-date.
Parents are encouraged to drop off their child’s required documents during the school district’s Required Registration Drop-Off Events July 22 — July 24, 2014, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. for:
Students entering Grades Kindergarten, 2, 4, or 6

209 Commonwealth Drive, OxfordNow
Students entering Grade 9

“After July 25, parents can drop off their child’s required documents at the school that their child will attend next year,” said Harvey.
