Rebels defeat the Lions 6-2 in front of local area schools.

Despite an early, cold start to the Ole Miss baseball game on Wednesday morning, the Rebels completed the mid-week series over the Southeastern Louisiana Lions with a score of 6-2.
The Rebels and Lions played at 11 A.M. as a part of a promotional event for the local area schools in attendance for the game.
Ole Miss (13-1) got the first inning started off with a bang sending ten men to the plate, scoring five runs on six hits. Junior catcher Stuart Turner got the RBI parade started for the Rebels in the first inning with a single that drove in Bousfield from third base for the first run of the game. Then Orvis, Allen and Jamison all added RBI hits in the frame all with just one out.
Coach Mike Bianco commented on how the Rebels played against Southeastern Louisiana today.
“Today, I thought we where terrific offensively in the first. I don’t think it was the early start cause it looked like we were really locked in offensively in the first then after that we did not do much,” Coach Bianco said.
The Rebels then added one more run to their final tally in the bottom of the fourth inning off of a single by Turner.
Southeastern Louisiana (8-4) got on the board for the first time in the two-game series against the Rebels in the fifth inning when Jesse Buratt brings home Tanner Rainey off a sacrifice fly for the Lions first run. The Lions would add another run to their scoring column in the sixth when SELA’s Harry Slade hit a ball into right field to score teammate Corey Bryan.
Ole Miss freshman pitcher Brady Bramlett who worked five complete innings, gave up one run, on five hits, allowing four walks and striking out two batters of the twenty-one he faced. Coach Bianco used a total of five pitchers in the win, giving up nine total hits and striking out six as a pitching staff.
Bramlett records his second win of the season and Tanner Bialey picked up his second save on the year.
The Ole Miss Rebels returns to the diamond at Swayze Field this weekend, to face Lipscomb University in a three game series with the first pitch scheduled for Friday at 6:30 P.M.
