Ole Miss Volleyball Drops Match to No. 10 Florida

After a tough loss on Friday at South Carolina, the Ole Miss Volleyball team faced a difficult assignment Sunday against No. 10 Florida.
The Rebels dropped a 3-0 match to the Gators to fall to 14-2 overall and 0-2 in the SEC.
Errors plagued the Rebels early on in the match, as they fell behind 6-1. They could not recover, as Florida built their lead to 21-9 and eventually won the set 21-13.
In the second set, after falling behind 4-1 to start, the Rebels pulled to within one 8-7. The Gators then went on a 5-1 run to pull ahead 13-8 and used a 12-7 run to close out the set 25-15.
The Rebels hung tough early in the third set trailing just 8-6, but Florida used a 7-2 run to go up 15-8. The Gators went on to win the set 25-19 for the match.
Junior middle blocker Nakeyta Clair led the Rebels with seven kills. Sophomores Melanie Crow and Margaret Eggert posted five kills each.
The Rebels return home to host Missouri Wednesday at 6 p.m. on the SEC Network. It’s Faith and Family Night at the Gillom Sports Center.
