The Ole Miss baseball team travels back down to Pearl, Miss., tonight to take on the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles at Trustmark Park.

No.17 Ole Miss (26-11) rolls into tonight’s contest after sweeping Alabama over the weekend, prior to dropping last nights 4-0 decision to the Memphis Tigers in Autozone Park.

Junior Auston Bousfield had a career night at the plate against the Tigers, going 4-for-4 and providing the Rebels with all but one of their five hits on the evening. On the season, Bousfield is hitting with a .292 average and has 42 total hits.

Southern Mississippi (18-17) heads to Trustmark Park on a seven-game winning streak.  The Golden Eagles are led at the plate by senior Chase Fowler, who has a .333 batting average, including one home run and a total of 19 RBI’s thus far on the year.

The probable pitching matchup for tonight’s game showcases Southern Miss’s junior LHP A.J. Glasshouff versus the Rebel’s sophomore RHP Josh Laxer.

On the season, Laxer has a 2-0 record on the mound, with a 2.37 ERA.  While Glasshouff enters the game with an 0-2 record and a 4.50 ERA.

The Golden Eagles and the Rebels are common foes on the diamond as they’ve met a total of 123 times.  Ole Miss holds the all-time series lead at 76-47. The clubs split the series last season with USM winning 10-0 in Oxford.  While the Rebels picked up the 3-0 victory in Pearl.
