Ole Miss Men Tie for First at Brooks Memphis Twilight Classic

The Ole Miss men’s cross country team opened the 2014 season on a high note, tying for first at the Brooks Memphis Twilight Classic with an average time of 20:39.90 late Saturday night.
Freshman Mark Robertson led the way for the Rebels and placed second overall with a time of 20:07:74 in the four-mile event. Sophomore Trevor Gilley’s time of 20:27:01 was good for second on the team and sixth overall.
The women’s team also had a successful performance under the lights, finishing third overall with 65 points.
Sophomore Mary Alex England’s time of 18:00:36 in the 5K was tops for the Rebels and fourth overall.
Ole Miss sent only a portion of its team to the season’s opening meet.
The Rebels have a week off before returning to action in Nashville, Tennessee, for the Commodore Classic on Sept. 13.
