Ole Miss IMC Class Hosts Concert for Final Project

Instead of taking a boring paper for a final, the University of Mississippi students enrolled in Integrated Marketing Communications music promotion class are hosting a concert at the Levee Friday for their final grade.

A class member, Hanna Teevan, said, “On the first day of class Dr. Cain said we might be doing a show for your final project, or you can do a final paper. So obviously most of the class wanted to do the show.”

The class was able to host the concert at The Levee due to a fellow student working as a bartender there. The Levee agreed to have the concert on the request that there will be a $5 cover at the door so that the venue would be able to pay the bands.

The class was able to invite local performers such as Silas Reed and Riverside Voodoo to play in the concert. One of the students in the class is D.J. Lamborghini who will close out the concert.

“Riverside Voodoo is known throughout the campus,” Teevan said. “This is their first time performing since Double Decker, so that’s pretty cool.”

Silas Reed will go on at 8:00 p.m., followed by Riverside Voodoo at 9:30 p.m. and then DJ Wavy Lamborghini will close out the night from 11:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
