Ole Miss Faces Texas A&M in Aggieland

This weekend the Ole Miss Rebels end the 2014 baseball regular season with a trip to College Station to take on the Texas A&M Aggies.
No.11 Ole Miss (38-15, 17-10 SEC) enters the weekend as the SEC’s western division leader by a game over Mississippi State. On Tuesday night, the Rebels came out on fire against the Arkansas State Red Wolves putting up 16 runs.
This season Ole Miss has three players in the top five in the conference in hits with Auston Bousfield (1st—82), Will Allen (2nd—74) and Austin Anderson (T5th—69).
Allen is second in the SEC in RBI (52) and is third in the league in home runs (7) and a batting average of .351.
Texas A&M (32-21, 13-14 SEC) comes off a mid-week win against Sam Houston State, but the Aggies did drop their last SEC  series to Arkansas. Cole Lankford leads the Aggies offense with a .349 average, four home runs and a team-leading 42 RBI.
As a club, A&M is hitting at a .287 clip, with 21 home runs and 265 RBI on the year.
The probable pitching matchups for this series showcase the Aggie arms of junior right-hander Daniel Mengden (Thursday), sophomore right-hander Grayson Long (Friday) and senior right-hander Parker Ray (Saturday). While coach Mike Bianco will go with his usual weekend rotation of Chris Ellis, Christian Trent and Sam Smith.

This is the first time the Rebels make the trip to College Station to play Texas A&M in a conference series. The last time Ole Miss was in College Station was for the regional in 2012 that Ole Miss dropped in the championship game to TCU. The Aggies took the series last year two games to one in Oxford.
Fans can catch all the action on the Ole Miss baseball radio network also on ESPN3.com. Friday nights game will be broadcasted on ESPNU. Game times are slated for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, 7:05 p.m. Friday and 2:05 p.m. Saturday.
