Tuesday afternoon, Ole Miss Baseball Coach Mike Bianco and players Brady Bramlett, Errol Robinson and Colby Bortles met with the media inside the diamond club of Oxford-University Stadium Swayze Field in anticipation of the 2016 season.

The Ole Miss baseball team opens its 2016 season this weekend against Florida International University. FIU is a team that usually make a NCAA Regional site every season. It will be a good opponent for the Rebels. After this weekend, Ole Miss will host Arkansas State before the Louisville Cardinals visits Oxford next weekend.

This season brings high hopes with a veteran ball club on the diamond for the Rebels. Coach Bianco talked about well the team preformed on offense during fall ball. Last season, the Rebels where very young after losing nine players from the 2014 trip to Omaha.

In this video, Coach Bianco talks about how the upcoming season looks like for the Diamond Rebels with the starters playing different positions.

Junior right-handed pitcher Brady Bramlett discusses the importance of being a Friday night ace and making an impact for the team going into the rest of the weekend.

Robinson and Bortles talk about how this season appears bright as the Rebels are older and more skilled.

First pitch is set for 4 p.m. on Friday afternoon.
