The Rebels and Aggies Square off In Aggieland

The Ole Miss Rebels travel to College Station, Texas tonight to face a new conference foe in the Texas A&M Aggies inside Reed Arena.
Ole Miss (7-3 SEC, 18-5) is led by SEC scoring leader, junior Marshall Henderson, who is averaging 19.9 points per game and ranks third in the nation in made 3-pointers with at least four a game.
Coach Andy Kennedy’s squad is coming off a 98-79 heartbreaker of a loss to the Missouri Tigers on Saturday in Colombia, Missouri. Henderson and Jarvis Summers each contributed 16 points in the game, but that was not enough to get past the Tigers.
Texas A&M (4-6 SEC, 14-9) is looking to rebound after a 52-46 loss to the Georgia Bulldogs on the road on Saturday. Junior Fabyon Harris lead the Aggies with 17 points, while senior Elston Turner added 13 points of his own in the game.
The last home game for the Aggies was against Missouri a game in which A&M beat the Tigers 74-72. The victory over No. 20 Missouri was the first time Texas A&M had defeated a ranked opponent inside Reed Arena, not since Jan. 22, 2011 when the Aggies defeated then No. 24 Kansas State 64-56.
In Billy Kennedy’s and the rest of the Aggies first year in the conference, they are seated ninth in the standings with a record of 4-6 in league play. The Rebels are scoring an average of 79.8 points per game, which ranks fifth in the nation.
When Ole Miss and Texas A&M take the court tonight, it will only be the second time that the teams have meet. In their last meeting way back in 1972, the Aggies beat the Rebels 100-83 at a neutral site in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
