NWCC Hosts Author Rodeo Round-up Saturday
The public is invited to Northwest Mississippi Community College’s first “Author Rodeo Round-up” on Saturday, March 29 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the R.C. Pugh Library on the Senatobia campus.
Director of Learning Resources, Maggie Moran, has rounded up 20 local authors to participate in a book signing at the library on that day.
“This is a chance for Northwest to showcase local authors by giving them an opportunity to visit and chat with the community,“ Moran said.
The event will kick off with a panel discussion of local authors, including Julie Cantrell of Oxford; Northwest Instructor Katherine King and her sister Margaret King; Saltillo poet Patricia Neely-Dorsey; children’s author Arthur Avant of Senatobia and Northwest Webmaster Ray Sharpe, who has published five books.
Other local authors who will be on hand to sign their books include: Diana Anderson, Dr. Rachell Anderson, Dr. David Ball, Lisa Cockrell, Dr. Michael Cockrell, Rev. Ray Cross, Pam DeLoach, Jody Dickson, Margaret Eubanks, Cassandra Hawkins, Thomas Herrington, Shane Louwerens, Sharon Morgan, Linda Rettstatt, Merle Temple and Nancy Millikin Tubbs.
“Each author on the panel will speak for approximately 10 minutes. After the discussion, all the authors will autograph books and chat with the public,” Moran said.
The event is free to the public. For more information, contact Moran at 662-562-3277 or email mmoran@northwestms.edu.
