Did you know Northwest Mississippi Community College has a branch in Oxford? Students from all over Mississippi and beyond choose Northwest’s Oxford Center as a great place to get the classes they need to transfer to Ole Miss or get the technical skills they need to compete in today’s highly skilled workforce.

At half of the price of the state’s four-year colleges, students can choose from the following academic programs: accountancy, business administration, computer/management information systems, criminal justice, elementary education, general college (core curriculum to transfer to the four-year), liberal arts, recreation and management, education, psychology and social work. The college encourages students to complete their two-year Associate of Arts to ensure all of their academic classes transfer to the four-year college.

Technical programs leading to an Associate of Applied Science in health-care data technology, microcomputer technology, office systems technology, paralegal technology and surgical technology and Career Certificate programs in cosmetology, health care assistant, practical nursing and office assistant offer students hands-on experience to begin working in their chosen field in as little as nine months.

With an open admission policy, students can apply to attend Northwest by simply filling out the application available online at www.northwestms.edu and sending their high school and any previously attended college transcripts or GED. Northwest admits students year-round for any upcoming semester. Financial aid and scholarships are available for those who qualify.

Located just past Baptist Memorial Hospital at 1310 Belk Drive, Northwest’s Oxford Center is home to just over 1,000 students, so they get the one-on-one attention from faculty they deserve. Students attending the Oxford campus have access to modern classrooms, labs and a learning resources center. Parking is never a problem at this commuter campus—thanks to their newly expanded parking facilities.

For more information about Northwest’s Oxford campus, call the Center’s Dean, Dr. Jack Butts, at (662) 238-7945 or stop by the campus for a visit.
