After a three-hour preliminary hearing, Federal Magistrate S. Allan Alexander has called a recess in the federal detention proceedings against Paul Kevin Curtis, the Corinth, Mississippi, man arrested for threatening the lives of President Barack Obama and Mississippi Senator Roger Wicker.

The hearing will resume on Monday morning at 10 a.m.

Earlier in the three-hour proceeding, Alexander denied a prosecution motion for a continuance in the case based on the incomplete status of search warrants still being executed at the defendant’s home and elsewhere.

Curtis was arrested on Wednesday at his home in Corinth, Mississippi, and appeared before Judge Alexander in Oxford on Thursday to answer the six-page federal criminal affidavit filed against him.

HottyToddy.com will be at the courthouse on Monday to cover the outcome of the hearing.
