Meet the New NWCC Ranger Cheerleaders
Twenty-three students at Northwest Mississippi Community College have been selected as Ranger cheerleaders for the 2014-2015 season, according to Liesl Mote, cheer sponsor.
Tryouts were held in the McClendon Center on the Senatobia campus on April 19 and 20.
Students selected for the squad are Breanna Bess of Duck Hill, Ana Blakely of Winona, Kevin Brownlow and Brandi Mason of Southaven; John Cotton, Jordan Davis, Lee Williams and Robert Hewettle, all of Lambert; Briley Cobbs of Senatobia; Michael Houston of Munford, Tenn., Anduan Griffin of Sardis; Shelby Ines and Leah Smith of Hernando; Jessica McClain of Nesbit; Courtney Mitchell of Courtland; Allison Plummer of Madison; Beka Robertson of Iuka; Corey Slade of Gore Springs; Brooke Taylor of Batesville and Jessica Welch and Kayla Witt of Olive Branch. The captains of the cheerleading squad are Kayla Lunamand of Olive Branch and Katelyn McClusky of Senatobia.
The Ranger cheerleaders are a non-competitive squad that cheers at all football games and all home basketball games. They travel with sporting teams to playoff games, tournaments and playoff games. Scholarships are available for those participating in cheerleading.
