For the second year in a row, a recipe from Square Table cookbook has been selected as a top 10 finalist in the 2012 Tony Chachere’s Tailgating Cook-Off Competition. The Catfish and Black-eyed Pea Cakes from Ajax Diner’s appetizer menu is just one Square Table recipe that highlights both traditional tailgating fare and recipes from the restaurants in Oxford.
To vote, go here to fill out the form before clicking through to vote for Ole Miss and get entered for a chance to win a free lunch at Ajax for two. The Yoknapatawpha Arts Council will be giving out a lunch each week until the contest ends. The winner will be notified by the email entered.

“We are in second place,” notes YAC Director Wayne Andrews. “If we all take some time out today and put in a couple votes, I’m sure we can give Alabama a good scare trying to beat them for first place. This contest is about more than winning; it’s about reaching a level of marketing exposure the arts council can’t buy. From the Tony’s Tailgate Competition, we were able to promote Ajax Diner’s incredible recipe of Catfish and Black-eyed Pea Cakes, along with Square Table cookbook for having this recipe, and we could highlight Oxford, Mississippi.”
