From ballets to football games, meeting Santa Claus and playing with therapy dogs, you are sure to find something fun and exciting to do this weekend!

Have Breakfast with Santa at Chick-fil-a
Bring the kids to have breakfast with Santa Claus at Chick-fil-a on Jackson Avenue on Dec. 5 from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
Shop at the Oxford Maker’s Market
From 11 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. the Oxford Maker’s Market will have 20 vendors offering diverse handmade and homegrown goods to enjoy for this holiday season. The children will have their own art market area as well with five vendors. Find them in the Powerhouse Community Arts Center off the Jackson Avenue.
Visit Santa’s Workshop at the University Museum
On Dec. 5, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. the University Museum on the Ole Miss campus will feature their Polar Express-themed Santa’s workshop. This free event will also feature a gingerbread village and “elf mobiles” for your family to tour. Learn more about this event at hottytoddy.com!
Cheer on the Oxford Chargers
On Dec. 5, the Oxford Charger will play the Wayne County War Eagles for the 5A state championship at the Vaught-Hemingway stadium at 7 p.m.
Fans can come out and support the team all day Saturday prior to kick off with a tailgate beginning at Noon in the Grove, a pep rally at 4:40 p.m. in front of the Union. Attend the MHSAA Football Championship
Football, football and more football! Expect to see high school football fans out and about in Oxford and at Ole Miss this weekend as they compete for the MHSAA Football Championship at the Vaught-Hemingway stadium. The event starts today, Dec. 4, at 11 a.m. The cost to attend the games is $10.
Watch the “Nutcracker” at the Powerhouse Community Arts Center
The Oxford Ballet will preform the “Nutcracker” on Dec. 5, at 6:30 p.m. and Dec. 6, at 2:30 p.m. at the Powerhouse Community Arts Center. General admission is $10 and reserved seating is $15. Tickets are available at the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council (662-226-6429) or at the door one hour before show time.

Hear the Mockingbird Early Music Ensemble at Paris Yates Chapel
The Mockingbird Early Music Ensemble will present a free concert on Dec. 6 at Paris Yates Chapel on the Ole Miss campus. The concert will feature tenor Jos Milton, and it will start at 3 p.m. This year, the theme is “Dreaming of Winters Past.” Read more about the ensemble and its connection to Ole Miss here.
View Bozarts Gallery’s Eight Annual Holiday Miniature Show
Bozarts Gallery’s Eight Annual Holiday Miniature Show in Water Valley will open this season on Saturday, Dec. 5, from 6 through 9 p.m.
This year’s show will feature a vast diversity of arts including painting, pottery, glass arts, jewelry, photography, fabric and silk screen art, wood and metal work, print making and other artistic expressions. Read more about the gallery here.
Ole Miss Students: Take a break from studying and Pet-a-Pup
On Dec. 5 and 6, students can attend Pet-a-Pup at the J.D. Williams Library. Lisa Brooks, secretary and treasurer for Oxford Therapets, a local chapter of Love on a Leash, said students are able to pet and play with therapy dogs in the library classroom 106 D from 3-5 p.m. this weekend.
