ESPN's College GameDay Analysts Excited about Ole Miss
ESPN’s College GameDay will finally make its long-awaited trip into Oxford and Ole Miss as they broadcast from the Grove for the first time ever this weekend before the Rebels take on the Crimson Tide.
Earlier today, the local media was able to sit down with College GameDay analysts Chris Fowler, Desmond Howard, Kirk Herbstreit and producer Lee Fitting to get their thoughts on their experience in Oxford so far, what they expect tomorrow and what this attention could mean for the Ole Miss football program.
The crew has been wanting to come to the Grove for a while, but all four said the trips never happened because the Rebels never won the games to get the attention. Now, that has changed with what coach Hugh Freeze has brought to the program and the recruits have come into Oxford.
Fitting was asked which college town Ole Miss reminded him of the most and his answer was Auburn with the small town fell that the city has to offer like Oxford and Ole Miss. However, Fitting made it clear this was a unique experience that had been on the College GameDay bucket list for years.
Saturday morning, fans will be cheering Hotty Toddy from the infamous Grove for three hours on national television prior to one of the biggest days of match ups for college football and the biggest game in modern Ole Miss football history.
