Double Decker Art Vendors Continue Prep for April 23
Oxford’s Double Decker Arts Festival presented by Caterpillar will be celebrating its 21st anniversary this year on April 22-23. The historic Oxford Square will host the two-day festival, showcasing Mississippi’s finest in food and art, along with 10 musical acts throughout the weekend.
Oxford’s own Thacker Mountain Radio Hour will kick-off the festivities Friday night with a live radio broadcast, hosting the first musical acts of Double Decker. With nearly 200 food and art vendors, festivalgoers will find a vendor that is perfect for them. Here are eight vendors that are sure to cause pause on Saturday, April 23:

Located in Tupelo, J. Britt Lighting & Interiors is a locally owned business, committed to bringing customers traditional and contemporary styled indoor and outdoor lighting selections. Since J. Britt is a family owned business, they offer a personal touch with customer service, helping people find lighting fixtures, ceiling fans, lamps, furnishing and more that satisfy their tastes and budgets. They also offer free in-home consultations from a skilled staff to help homeowners update their home décor. Schedule an appointment online and stop by their offices at 1993 McCullough Boulevard in Tupelo to see their vast selection housed in their 12,000 square foot showroom.

Hannah Lane Paintings
Louisiana native Hannah Lane is an artist based in Nashville. Time spent studying art in New Orleans and aboard in Italy has given this young artist the experience to create her mixed media paintings. Hannah Lane’s work is shown in her home studio in Nashville and six other galleries in the Southeast, including Frame Up Gallery in Oxford.

Art enthusiasts Walter and Vivian Neill built their own painting studio gallery in 2005 and have continued their business today to what is now Oxford Treehouse Gallery. The gallery displays work from many artists and various types of art from paintings to pottery. Oxford Treehouse Gallery is open Thursday-Saturday from noon-6 p.m. and by appointment. They are located at 328 County Road 418 in Oxford.

Ann Seale Fine Art
Ole Miss alum Ann Seale is an inspiring young artist and Mississippi native from Jackson. After receiving her BFA and MA in Art Education at Ole Miss, she studied at art schools in Chicago and New York, expanding her knowledge of the craft. Her employment as an education coordinator at Craftsmen’s Guild of Mississippi allowed her to work with other artists, helping her develop an original style for her oil paintings. Brown’s Fine Art and Framing and Lounge Arts display her work in Jackson. Some of her work features aspects of life in Oxford, including the Oxford Courthouse and The Grove on game day.
Wild and Free Designs/Booth 114
Wild and Free Designs
Wild and Free Designs is the creation of Laura Maxcy, a grapic designer from Fulton. Her work features vintage globe art, prints, mugs, ornaments and other art and décor. Inspiration for Maxcy’s art comes from her love for the outdoors and transcendentalist authors like Thoreau and Emerson and their poetic look on nature. Wild and Free Designs has an online store and also sells their products to art retailers in several states across the U.S.

Christy Ford began her business in 2008 and specializes in lifestyle and birth photographer.
Gary Walters/Booth 117
Gary Walters
Gary Walters is a Christian artist from Jackson. Walters has won several art awards for his watercolor paintings and his work is displayed for many private and public collections. Popularity for his paintings gave Walters the incentive to publish his own book in 2008, Delta Dreamin’, featuring his collection of paintings.
