Color My College Brings Red and Blue Color Run to Oxford
Color runs have become the new way to do a 5K, spraying runners decked in white t-shirts, shorts and shoes with colored powders or paints so they cross the finish line looking like a rainbow.
This March, Color My College is starting its spring tour this year in Oxford, but there’s one difference: Runners will still end more colorful than they started, but only dusted in Rebel Red and Blue.
The company, with the slogan “Because the only colors worth wearing are yours,” will travel to different universities at the end of the upcoming semester and do charity runs with each school’s colors for different organizations.
Sponsored by Ole Miss Campus Recreation, the run at 10 a.m. March 21 will benefit Special Olympics: Mississippi. Student entry fees are $25 through March 1, while non-students are $30 and teams of four are $100. After March 1, entry fees increase $5 per runner. Runners will be given a Color My College t-shirt to wear during the race, and volunteers are also needed for the event.
